Custom players branded to suit your broadcast needs!

The player can show your station’s logo as well as information about special events and other broadcast-oriented information. You can use scrolling messages, even flash files for your player. In addition to gateway advertisements (pre-rolls), the player offers a customizable arena for the station to present dynamically changing self-promotional and revenue generating messages including:

• Photo and name of the DJ on the air
• Promotional items for sale (T-shirts, hats, etc.)
• Sponsor ads
• Concert and/or special events schedules

Finally, our new javascript “Listen Live” link helps you avoid launch problems caused by pop-up blockers. All-in-all, SurferNETWORK’s new Player provides a better overall experience for your listeners as well as revenue opportunities for you! Here are some examples, click the players to see them Live:

Overview of Player Features and Customization Options

Logo Section

The top section of the player can display your station logo at 470 pixels wide by 97 pixels high.

Value Added Section

This section can be used in a variety of ways. You can use it for promotions, show schedules, advertising, sponsor ads, etc... The value added section can hold anything you would like from JPGs, animated GIFs, and even Flash. The size should be 470px wide by 157px high.

You can also rotate ads in this section using our rotator code. You can have multiple clickable ads rotate at a set time interval to get full use of this space!

Notes about Graphics

Some broadcasters choose to make the whole player one big logo. To accomplish this make the logo 470px wide by 254px high. Then cut out the top 97px for this logo section, and the bottom 157px for the value added section.

You can also host these graphics on your own server and send us the URL for them. This allows you to change the graphics as often as you would like without having to send us new images.
You also have the ability to change the graphics based on parameters you use in your listen live link. For example, if a DJ has their own website, they can have their own graphics displayed on the player when launched from their website. You can also use this feature to promote sports teams or special programs on your stream.

Artist and Title

Artist and Title can displayed as the song is playing using several techniques, including Yes.com. You can also display this information in HTML format directly from your automation system (such as the dMarc Com Module from Scott Studios) which we can then pull through onto the player. Check with you automation system vendor for more details.

Gateway Ads

The player allows streams to be preceded by a gateway video, or the combination of an audio ad and a coordinated, clickable picture. The gateway videos can likewise be coupled with a coordinated, clickable banner ad that displays at the top of the player as the video plays.

You can rotate up to five videos or banner/audio gateways at once. Each click on the listen live button will produce the next gateway in line.

Gateways should be in wmv format if they are video, and wma format if they are audio. For audio gateways, we can use JPG or animated GIF images sized 470px wide by 250 px high.

After the gateway ad concludes, the video screen disappears revealing the new player design which allows individual stations a lot of “real estate” they can use to brand their player using pictures or even flash movies. For station clusters, a group tuner can be provided. Station surveys or song request links can also be part of the design.

You can also have different gateways play based on changes to the listen live link. For example, you can set a station promo gateway to show on your live stream, and a sponsor gateway to show before archive files. You can also use this feature to remove gateways from archives or from other special events.
