WAYS TO BROADCAST
ON THE INTERNET

dj internet broadcasting

If you are a frustrated DJ, a preacher with sermons to share, a politician with speeches to be heard, a tax advisor with comments on tax law, an educator with lectures to present, or, or, ... how do you get your voice heard? We have everything you need to do everything you want.

Want to get us more smarter????

Want to PRAISE HIM to a
larger congregation???

Here are some of the services we can provide for you:

  • 24 x 7 radio station, from your location, allows live assist
  • 24 x 7 radio station, your content broadcast from our servers according to your playlist
  • Make an assortment of your content available on-demand by your audience
  • 1 hour packaged service, like buying one hour of radio time

Are there some concepts we should be understanding????

Have some music you want to share with us????

A. 24 x 7 radio station, from your location, allows live assist

You need a computer with a broadband connection to the Internet (DSL, cable modem, T1) and a library of music or other material you wish to broadcast. You will need music scheduling software such as our highly acclaimed DRS2006 (Lite or Pro version). Your computer sends a single, continuous stream of your content to our servers. Your audience clicks on a link on your web site which connects them to our server farm -- their media player starts up and begins playing whatever you are streaming at the moment. This is exactly how professional radio stations operate. Your music scheduling software allows you to dynamically change the music schedule (“live assist”), and allows you to talk to your audience just like a DJ.

B. 24 x 7 radio station, your content broadcast from our servers according to your playlist (This is our “Managed Radio Station” package)

You send us the material you wish to broadcast, either electronically (ftp, email), or physically (tapes, CD’s). You either provide us with a playlist, or we play your material in a continuous loop. Your audience clicks on a link on your web site which connects them to our server farm -- their media player starts up and begins playing whatever we are streaming for you at that moment. Your material is being continuously broadcast, just like a radio station, even if no one happens to be listening. This way, when someone connects they tune in to an arbitrary point in the material -- otherwise, every time someone clicked in they would start at the same point. If your material is not in electronic format suitable for ftp or email transmission, we can convert your tapes and CD’s for a modest fee.

C. Your material, on-demand, broadcast from our serversA sermon
A speech
Dire Predictions
Book reviews
News commentaries
Express an opinion
Spout off!

You send us the material you wish to broadcast, either electronically (ftp, email), or physically (tapes, CD’s). We give you a unique link for each item, so that you can list them individually on your website. When your visitors click on an item, their media player starts and we stream just that item to them. With the most recent version of Windows Media Player, the listener can stop, start, rewind, and fast forward, just like with a VCR. Optionally, items can be arranged so that they download, rather than stream -- with this option, your user can play it back later, at their convenience (even from a portable player like an iPod).

D. Our 1-Hour Broadcast Package

You can talk, sing, play the tuba, or recite poetry for an hour. You can either send it to us in electronic format, or in a physical format (tape, CD), or we will record it while you broadcast live.  (There is a modest extra charge for us to convert your material.) (If you are broadcasting live, your Internet connection needs to be fast enough to support the encoding rate you have selected -- we can help you with that.) You put a “listen now” button on your web site. If someone clicks while you are broadcasting, they will hear you live -- if they click at some other time, they will hear the recording. Change the recording as often as you wish. Don’t happen to have a website -- no problem. We’ll set you up with a web page for free, and give you your own Internet domain name to use so people can access it (your domain name might be something like “www.surfernetwork.com.mary_jones”. It’s just like buying an hour of radio or TV time, but on the Internet, for as little as $10/month. We will also list your broadcast on an index, and highlight your show as a featured program on our web site from time to time.

Converting your material (encoding)

We can convert your audio/video tapes or CD’s/DVD’s to the necessary format for a modest fee. We can batch process your library to get you started, and then just send us your new material as it becomes available.

Charging your audience

Of course, you can provide your material for free to your audience. However, we also can help you set up arrangements so you can accept payment. You can offer a subscription service; you can charge a fee per download; or, you can request a donation for a download.
